Please prepare at least 32 bars of one contemporary song of your choice (sheet music preferred but a cappella welcome) and be prepared to learn and sing something from the show.
No RSVP necessary - open auditions. Auditioners will be seen in the order they arrive.

Sunday, January 5 between 7 and 10 PM
Callbacks, if necessary, will be Wednesday, January 8.

Characters
Sweeney Todd:
Male Identified - Strong Baritone;
Upon his return voyage to London, Sweeney is hell bent on avenging the wrong doings done to both himself and his family. He returns to his previous profession, a barber, but this time with horrific intentions.
Mrs. Lovett:
Female Identified - Belter with a Strong Mix;
Owner of a dilapidated pie shop and madly in love with Sweeney. She aids Sweeney in his plans while never revealing a deadly secret.
Johanna:
Female Identified - Legit Soprano;
Sweeney’s daughter who is now being held captive by Judge Turpin. She longs to escape her trappings.
Beggar Woman:
Female Identified - Legit Mezzo-Soprano;
Seemingly a crazed beggar woman who wanders the streets, continually suspicious of Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett.
Anthony Hope:
Male Identified - Legit Tenor with Strong Low Range;
Noble and romantic, Anthony falls in love with Johanna at first sight and makes it his duty to free her from Judge Turpin.
Judge Turpin:
Male Identified - Bass;
A leading figure in London. He became entranced by Johanna’s beauty and devised a plan to keep her for himself by sentencing Sweeney to exile. He continually fights a battle between his duty to his God and country and his dark sexual desires.
Pirelli:
Male Identified - Legit Tenor;
A con artist in the streets of London. He loses a challenge to Sweeney and seeks revenge.
Beadle:
Male Identified - Tenor with Strong Falsetto; Judge Turpin’s wicked right hand man.
Tobias Ragg:
Male or Female; young actors will be considered
Wide-eyed and helpful, child-like. After the death of his previous employer, becomes Mrs. Lovett’s loving apprentice.
Ensemble:
Male and Female Identified (All Ages) Street urchins, customers, and lunatics. They are the story tellers of “The Tale of Sweeney Todd.”
